TITLE: Solution Engineer

DUTIES: Serve as a Solutions Engineer, work with end-to-end technology solutions with customer requirements, participate in workshops, analyze business requirements, and drive functional and technical solutions through project documentation. Intensive and on-going customer interaction throughout the entire lifecycle of a project as well as a high-level of professionalism, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work with technical and non-technical individuals to successfully define and implement a quality solution. Analytical, technical, problem-solving, customer facing position focused on installing, configuring and testing Siemens Smart Grid software solutions to meet customer requirements.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field (or foreign degree equivalent) and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the above listed fields and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. Must have 5 years of experience with the following skills: serving as a technical engineer with a solid business and technical background, a solid understanding of Enterprise Software delivery in the Smart Meter/Smart Grid Utility space; experience in one or more of the following: Solution Architect - Group of solutions (such as all integration) or single application, Small to medium size team – responsible for one or more deliverables in a management consulting project, Customer satisfaction & delivery excellence; Utilities Industry; Grid Applications with at least two of the following MDMS, DRMS, Energy Engage, or Prepayment; Enterprise Resource Planning (Back-Office/Corporate Systems) with at least two of the following: CIS, Asset Management, Workforce Management Systems; Data Modeling; root cause analysis and troubleshooting; writing proficiency in PL/SQL, Packages, Triggers, Procedures; Development/Architect Experience with Enterprise Service Bus, Web Services, SOA and/or OO Technology; capability of executing routine Unix commands and scripting; experience in at least two of the following metering platforms: Itron, Sensus, SilverSpring, L&G, Aclara, Elster; experience implementing solutions using the SAP AMI MDUS technologies; understanding basics of security management; PM@Siemens, ADM or equivalent Methodologies; demonstrated leadership across solution lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and production; understanding and experience in MDMS/DRMS operations; and contributing and/or leading RFP/RFI responses. Telecommuting permitted. Approximately 50% domestic and international travel required.
